Relocating To West Sussex

West Sussex: Commutable, Rural, Coastal High Quality Property

West Sussex offers speed of access to London by road or rail, approximately one hour forty-five minutes from the coast or Chichester, enables buyers to live in a delightful location whilst either commuting or working from home.

The calibre of property: Period and contemporary, rural or coastal – some with outstanding country or coastal views, provides a wide selection and opportunity for all requirements and styles of living.

Town and Village Houses: The History

The Romans were not ‘slow off the mark’ when they saw the potential of West Sussex as they established one of their most important villas, Fishbourne, at the head of Chichester Harbour – now an important place to visit. The coastal towns became centres of commerce because of the salt industry, fishing and the wool trade.

Due to this earlier prosperity: West Sussex has high calibre period houses in places such as Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth and Arundel plus delightful Sussex flint-stone cottages, tile-hung and weather boarded houses often built round the village green.

West Sussex contains striking manor houses and country estates. The wonderful houses of Goodwood, Cowdray, Petworth and Arundel Castle, plus all the special events connected with them, are real focuses to enhance the pleasure of living in the area.

Waterside & Coastal Property in West Sussex

Chichester Harbour Marina provides facilities for over 12,000 craft and covers a wide area including Bosham. Emsworth and Hayling Island are easily accessible.

There are lovely beaches at West Wittering and Aldwick plus delightful walks by the nature reserve of Pagham Harbour and Church Norton.

West Sussex offers first class educational opportunities both from within the Maintained and Independent Sector; amongst the latter are Bedales, Lancing College, Seaford College, Portsmouth Grammar, Portsmouth High and Lavant House School, to name a few.

Chichester College boast one of the finest colleges, ranked in the top ten in the country and also has a highly sought after University.

West Sussex is well connected with the A3 out of London towards Portsmouth, one of the most pleasant routes south and the M3 leading to the A27 along the coast.

The train service to Victoria is accessible from Southampton or Portsmouth running through Chichester and serving stations along the coast, via Brighton. An alternative service passes through the Arun Valley calling at Barnham, Ford, Arundel, Amberley, Pulborough, Billingshurst and Horsham.

Waterloo Station is served by trains from Portsmouth via Havant, Rowland Castle, Liss, Liphook, Petersfield and Haslemere.

Gatwick International Airport is an hour’s drive from the coast and Southampton Airport offers accessibility to most of the UK and Europe

West Sussex has one of the highest sunshine rates in the UK.

The Downs shelter the area to the south from the worst of the winter weather.

Temperatures normally compare very favourably with the whole of the South Coast.

Property Search Agents - The Benefits

Fewer Wasted Journeys

Many clients contact us when their own searches have proven fruitless or expensive. Using your own buying expert ensures the whole buying process remains on track, with fewer wasted house hunting trips.

Time & Money

Property searching can take a great deal of time, energy and money if you don’t already live in the local area.

A property search agent can help you identify the right property and location quickly, and help you make what perhaps is amongst the largest financial decisions you’ll ever make.

Local Buying Experts

Buying in an unfamiliar location can be a minefield. With local experts on your side, you’ll be armed with inside knowledge to make the best purchase choices for you and your family.

The Best Property Alway Goes Fast

It’s a misconception that a generally slower property market means it’s easier to buy the right property. In fact, the best property sells fast in almost any market, and holds its value better too. We can help you make those distinctions and conduct negotations on your behalf to achieve the right price.

As buying agents, we expect to find you the very finest property matching your requirements and budget.

Experienced, Objective Negotiators

When you find a home you want to purchase, the negotiation stage is key.

An impartial, detached and experienced negotiator can make a significant difference to final purchase price you pay.

Off Market Property

In the current climate, where some sellers are reluctant to put their property on the West Sussex property market, it’s invaluable to use someone who has the right contacts and can put you in touch with properties that are not yet advertised for sale.

This is particularly true at the much higher end of the market.
